Advance Directives and Palliative Care
September 29, 2010
11:30:00 AM - 1:30:00 PM
LRMC-Room B-201 The Foundation will serve you a healthy boxed lunch while LRMC staff educate you about the importance of having an advance directive, which is a legal document that tells healthcare providers who it is that you wish to make medical decisions for you and what treatments you would want or not want, if you are ever not able to tell care providers what you would want in a medical emergency or life-limiting illness.
Afterwards, we’ll tour you through the LRMC Center for Advancing Quality of Life. This unit offers palliative care, which is compassionate care for patients and families facing a serious illness affecting their quality of life. The home-like environment created by the Center is as close to home as hospital patients can feel.
